About the Band
Infusion
Infusion is a nine-piece powerhouse featuring an electrifying blend of some of the DC area’s top artists. A literal infusion of musical talent led by vocalist and former Miss Virginia, Nita Young. This band has three lead singers (2 female, 1 male), a rock-solid four-piece rhythm section, and two sizzling horns (sax & trumpet). Infusion wows every party crowd with its energy and personality, always leaving guests wanting more!
Nita’s priority is to authentically recreate music that moves the soul, faithfully reproducing the best dance party songs as you know them - authentic music with a funky groove, performed with a showmanship that comes natural to these seasoned pros. The goal is to create an absolutely unforgettable party experience for Infusion’s clients and their guests.
Infusion’s song list covers all the top hits from the 70s to today’s most popular songs. The band captures extraordinary on-stage energy from styles like Pop, Rock, Motown, Soul and Funk, and can even offer a healthy dose of 80s/90s, Hip-Hop, Go-Go, or Swing for those crowds that want a little bit of everything. The performers use all this diverse music and inspiration, fuse it with their dynamic personalities, as the platform to create memorable experiences.
Nita grew up performing in front of a worldwide audience as a teen star (Nita Booth) in the role of a Mouseketeer on Disney’s “All New Mickey Mouse Club” show in the early 90’s, and her on-stage talents continued to shine as she was honored as the first African-American Miss Virginia in 1998. After extensive training as a classical vocalist and moving to DC, Nita wanted to form a band and continue performing elite events, dazzling audiences, and packing dance floors. In addition to forming Infusion - which has now won multiple WeddingWire “Couples Choice” Awards in the DC area, she is the creator of “Music for Virginia Babies,” a program to help brain development in newborns through the use of classical music.
Nita and other members of Infusion have performed alongside world-renowned artists such as Brittany Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Wyclef, Shelia E., Chuck Brown, Luke James, Michelle Williams, Regina Carter, members of N’Sync and the National Symphony Orchestra. The VIP client list of Infusion performers includes Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Rupert Murdoch, and party planner to the stars, David Tutera. Nita and other Infusion members have performed everywhere from The Bellagio in Las Vegas, weddings in DC and NYC and tours through North American, Europe, and Africa.
Let Infusion light the musical fuse at your next event! You’ll be the talk of the town amongst all your guests who will remember the night with Infusion for many years to come.

FAQs

We offer bands for nearly every budget, starting around $2,000 and going up to $15,000+. Most dance bands range between $3,500 and $8,500.
Bands bring instruments and sound equipment for most weddings and events, covering up to several hundred guests. For larger events, additional sound support can be arranged for a fee or through a vendor you provide.
All bands provide basic lighting for their performance area, but this isn’t decor lighting for the whole space. Light stands typically feature a few white or colored LED or par cans. Some bands can adjust lighting to fit the event, or they can skip it if you’re working with a separate lighting vendor.
Special event bands charge a single fee for up to a 4-hour block, including breaks. They’ll play a preset playlist during breaks, scheduled around natural pauses like speeches or cake cutting. For a 4-hour event, bands need at least 45 minutes of break time, usually split into two 20-25 minute breaks. Some bands offer a three-hour no-break option and can add overtime for an extra fee.
Spring and fall Saturday events often book a year or more in advance, with popular dates typically securing bands 8-15 months ahead. Non-Saturday events book closer to the date, and we often help clients with shorter timelines (2-6 months) find great bands. Booking early increases your options for in-demand bands, so reach out soon!
