OUR STORY
Sam Hill Entertainment was born out of the music scene in Charlottesville, Virginia.
In 1995, I was a UVA student who played in local bands and saw live music whenever I could. From fraternity parties to major concerts, I was drawn to the way live music connected a performer and an audience and could transform a room full of people.
While my classmates interviewed for “real” jobs, I began booking bands at local fraternities and sororities, promoting concerts and managing bands. Over the next decade, Sam Hill grew to meet the huge demand for entertainment at weddings, corporate functions and private events around the Southeast. We shifted away from the “music business” and into providing live music for the special event industry.
But supplying top-notch musicians to our clients’ events was only half the equation. The best bands focus on helping each event run smoothly as well as delivering a great performance. We strove to provide our clients with the best of both, and we learned that it can only happen when we represent bands that strive to do the same.
We’ve also learned to provide a smooth and steady path for our clients, from our first conversation to the last dance, so they always know what to expect. We know we’ve done our job when a client tells us they absolutely loved every part of working with us and their band. That’s why we do what we do.
We now provide bands for thousands of weddings, corporate functions and special events around the country each year. We’re still inspired every time we see live music transform a room into a party, and we make sure every band we work with has the magic that got us into this business to begin with.
