About the Band
The After Party Experience
The After Party Experience (T.A.P.E.) is a young, dynamic and energetic live band that features some of the region’s most talented singers and musicians together with an on-stage DJ. This innovative approach to live performances allows them to deliver continuous music as well as the most current Top 40 hits at every event they play. A typical performance includes over 100 songs, often played back-to-back, either as a 3-hour continuous performance with no breaks, or as a combination of live band, DJ and set breaks as requested to fit the flow of the event. Founded and managed by multi-talented married couple Erika Dawn and Daniel Rhodes of Golden Rose Management and the Billboard charting group "The APX", T.A.P.E. travels far and wide to bring their unique non-stop approach to weddings, corporate events, colleges, festivals, and concerts across the country.
“We provide something fresh for everyone young and old!” says founder Erika. “What's special about T.A.P.E is that the DJ doesn't just play while the band is on break. He actually performs and spins alongside the band, creating a synergy between the original songs you know and love and the energy of a live band. This band take the audience on a musical journey every time we take the stage. T.A.P.E. is not just another party band - it’s a full experience!”
With over 15 years of experience, members of T.A.P.E. have performed with or for numerous recording artists, TV programs and public figures including President Obama, , Eli Manning, Pat Benatar, Nene Leakes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, BET's "Being Mary Jane”, VH1’s “Single Ladies”, and many others. Equipped with an extensive song list featuring everything from rock, pop, country, soul, r&b, hip hop, jazz, Motown and current hits, The After Party Experience is ready to take the stage at your next event.

Truly the best wedding/event band we have ever heard, and all of my guests have yet to stop talking about it, they were mind blown! They not only sounded great but exceeded all expectations and were so energetic/hype! I can not recommend or thank them enough. FAQs

We offer bands for nearly every budget, from local jazz combos starting at $750 to top party bands at $10,000+. Most dance bands for weddings or events range between $2500 and $7500.
Bands bring instruments and sound equipment for most weddings and events, covering up to several hundred guests. For larger events, additional sound support can be arranged for a fee or through a vendor you provide.
Most bands provide basic lighting for their performance area, but this isn’t decor lighting for the whole space. Light stands typically feature a few white or colored LED or par cans. Some bands can adjust lighting to fit the event, or they can skip it if you’re working with a separate lighting vendor. Note: smaller bands, like acoustic or jazz groups, usually don’t bring lighting.
Special event bands charge a single fee for up to a 4-hour block, including breaks. They’ll play a preset playlist during breaks, scheduled around natural pauses like speeches or cake cutting. For a 4-hour event, bands need at least 45 minutes of break time, usually split into two 20-25 minute breaks. Some bands offer a three-hour no-break option and can add overtime for an extra fee.
Spring and fall Saturday events often book a year or more in advance, with popular dates typically securing bands 8-15 months ahead. Non-Saturday events book closer to the date, and we often help clients with shorter timelines (2-6 months) find great bands. Booking early increases your options for in-demand bands, so reach out soon!
