About the Band
Radio City
With a rich history spanning over three decades, Radio City has delivered unforgettable music experiences at some of the capital’s most amazing special events. The band’s hallmark lies in their potent musicality and knack for allowing guests to feel so inspired to smile and hit the dance floor. Their playlist brims with modern party hits as well as timeless classics, guaranteeing the right musical atmosphere for any memorable evening.
In a unique way that other party bands typically can’t deliver, Radio City blends personality and musicianship to absolutely captivate an audience with showmanship more typically found in big-name national acts. At the same time, their adaptability to intimate environments allows for jazz-inspired cocktail and dinner sets to make sure every sophisticated event begins with class and style. With their cumulative experience and infectious energy, the band always delivers an impactful show once it’s time to bring the party to the dance floor. The more a crowd wants to rock out, the more Radio City is able to turn up the performance dial in all the right ways.
Radio City offers a dynamic ten-piece configuration of two female vocalists, one male lead singer, three horns (sax, trumpet and trombone), and a rhythm section of keyboards, guitar, bass and drums. With three members of the rhythm section also taking on lead vocals for parts of the set list, this full-size configuration allows the band to offer the most diverse and impactful live performance possible. The band can provide instrumentation flexibility with smaller configurations of horns and/or singers, which allows Radio City to tailor any party to the custom specifications of each client.
The key to Radio City’s success is that they really love what they do, and that comes out on stage. The band has made some great memories playing incredible events around the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas for years and they look forward making many more.
“There’s nothing more gratifying than looking out at a full dance floor and seeing people enjoying themselves. Our goal is to make a party happen with a smooth flow of events so the client and the guests can have a great time.” – Scott Hymes, Keyboards/Vocals and Manager (Radio City)
Testimonial
We cannot thank you enough, everything was absolutely perfect. I'd told Scott before our wedding, but we put a lot of weight on wedding music. You all surpassed our expectations. You all had everyone on the dance floor dancing and singing along which is all we could ask for. The entirety of the band is so talented. The array for music was exactly what we were looking for.

FAQs

We offer bands for nearly every budget, starting around $2,000 and going up to $15,000+. Most dance bands range between $3,500 and $8,500.
Bands bring instruments and sound equipment for most weddings and events, covering up to several hundred guests. For larger events, additional sound support can be arranged for a fee or through a vendor you provide.
All bands provide basic lighting for their performance area, but this isn’t decor lighting for the whole space. Light stands typically feature a few white or colored LED or par cans. Some bands can adjust lighting to fit the event, or they can skip it if you’re working with a separate lighting vendor.
Special event bands charge a single fee for up to a 4-hour block, including breaks. They’ll play a preset playlist during breaks, scheduled around natural pauses like speeches or cake cutting. For a 4-hour event, bands need at least 45 minutes of break time, usually split into two 20-25 minute breaks. Some bands offer a three-hour no-break option and can add overtime for an extra fee.
Spring and fall Saturday events often book a year or more in advance, with popular dates typically securing bands 8-15 months ahead. Non-Saturday events book closer to the date, and we often help clients with shorter timelines (2-6 months) find great bands. Booking early increases your options for in-demand bands, so reach out soon!
