About the Band
'Round Midnight
The story of 'Round Midnight is rooted in dedication and creativity. The band originally consisted of former armed forces band musicians who wanted to explore new musical realms beyond their usual duties at White House performances and inaugurations. At the heart of 'Round Midnight's vision was to bring the same level of service and musical excellence they once delivered at these important national events to wider and more FUN audiences at celebrations like festive weddings, unique corporate events, and incredible fundraiser galas around the nation’s capital.
Fast forward to today, and ‘Round Midnight has fulfilled this vision beyond their wildest imagination, performing hundreds of showstopping events around the DC area and beyond. They’ve had the opportunity to impress VIP clients like Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher, and Demi Moore at events for The Disney Corporation, Touchstone Pictures, at the world premiere of the movie "The Guardian." Other achievements include invitations to play at both of President Obama’s Inaugural Balls, a performance at Chris Wallace's daughter's wedding, and a memorable party at Al Gore's private residence. They've even performed at a wedding that was featured on the hit TV show "Say Yes to the Dress”, showcasing their impact on high-profile events.
Along the way, 'Round Midnight has made its mark with remarkable versatility. With three vocalists who effortlessly transition from classic swing to modern dance hits, the band brings a mix of energy, enthusiasm, and proven musical talent to any event. The core seven-piece lineup features three singers who deliver delightfully soul-inspiring harmonies, and a four-piece rhythm section that always provides strong and steady grooves. Combined with the dynamic 3pc horn section, ‘Round Midnight allows guests to forget what time it is and dance long into the night.
‘Round Midnight’s commitment to their clients’ experience is evident through meticulous planning and attention to detail. Their professionalism extends to each note played on stage, as every song is carefully arranged, rehearsed, and flawlessly executed. The band delivers this level of excellence in every setting, whether at the White House or on a couple’s special wedding night. With 'Round Midnight leading the way, clients can be sure that the midnight hour is always greeted with the perfect band for the occasion.

FAQs

We offer bands for nearly every budget, starting around $2,000 and going up to $15,000+. Most dance bands range between $3,500 and $8,500.
Bands bring instruments and sound equipment for most weddings and events, covering up to several hundred guests. For larger events, additional sound support can be arranged for a fee or through a vendor you provide.
All bands provide basic lighting for their performance area, but this isn’t decor lighting for the whole space. Light stands typically feature a few white or colored LED or par cans. Some bands can adjust lighting to fit the event, or they can skip it if you’re working with a separate lighting vendor.
Special event bands charge a single fee for up to a 4-hour block, including breaks. They’ll play a preset playlist during breaks, scheduled around natural pauses like speeches or cake cutting. For a 4-hour event, bands need at least 45 minutes of break time, usually split into two 20-25 minute breaks. Some bands offer a three-hour no-break option and can add overtime for an extra fee.
Spring and fall Saturday events often book a year or more in advance, with popular dates typically securing bands 8-15 months ahead. Non-Saturday events book closer to the date, and we often help clients with shorter timelines (2-6 months) find great bands. Booking early increases your options for in-demand bands, so reach out soon!
