First, let me commend you for your followup. It is very professional and most appreciated. Second, before getting to the band, let me say what a pleasure it was to deal with you. As I told you, I've been a performing musician for decades and have dealt with all manner of agents, from the top guys to the scum at the bottom of the barrel, and Sam Hill was in the former category, not the latter. I felt fairly dealt with and, I have to use the word again because it is an important one to me, professionally handled. Now, getting to the band. They were exactly what we were looking for. Peter and Rick (the violinist) did a fine job at the ceremony. They took cues well, played to length as needed and sounded fine. The Hot Band with Catherine was great. Catherine really charmed everyone and the band struck just the balance we were looking for in terms of real musicality, energy, familiarity of material, avoidance of trite or cliché stuff, and reasonable volume level (one table of guests, filled with older folks, was only a few feet in front of them). Needless to say, they conducted themselves graciously and professionally. I only made one request, which was from the repertoire list Peter had sent, and they played it almost immediately. I was listening more closely than they probably realized and was entirely satisfied that I made the right choice. Peter's brother Rodney was a pleasant surprise: he's quite an excellent player. Alas, the reception was winding down by the time they really got into their second band set, so that did not get fully appreciated, but such is the way at weddings. So, all "A"s on this report card. If I or anyone I know should have music needs in the Washington area again, I will most certainly steer them your way. The wedding itself, by the way, went perfectly. The weather cleared the day before and it was beautiful on the day itself. The ceremony turned out excellently (we wrote it ourselves and had no rehearsal), and all of our vendors, from you and Alegria to our caterer (Elegant Pantry - I VERY highly recommend them for quality and professionalism), and Flowers and Bows (our florist) all did a great job. Nearly all of the guests gave us the same two comments: they thought the ceremony was beautiful and they had a lot of fun. We couldn't ask for more. A pleasure doing business with you. Cheers, Larry Oppenheimer From: Bessie and James Andy, Now that we have a moment to respond, let me begin by saying organizing a Washington, DC wedding from Shanghai was no simple task. Your website is unmatched in terms of listening to so many bands for the type of music we wanted and selecting a band we could afford. Some vendors were easier to work with than others over the Pacific Ocean, but I can say without much hesitation that Sam Hill and the Dixie Power Trio were the simplest and most enjoyable part of preparing for our wedding. And on June 18, the band came, they played, and people had a good time. Very professional. Just the right sort of music and tempo for our 70-odd guests outside in rural Virginia. An old high school friend of mine who we invited as a guest, drove down from New York City with his sax and played a set with the Dixie Power Trio, much to everyone's delight. We are actually moving back to the Washington, DC area in the fall and will be sure to spread the word about you guys and our fun band. Regards From: Amanda Boudrie Justin - Thank you for your lovely and thoughtful note. Working through Sam Hill has been a pleasure, start to finish. I would highly recommend your services to anyone. Let me know if you ever want me to serve as a reference. The band was FANTASTIC! They were exactly what we hoped for. Such great
performers, very fun, and very professional (considerate and easy to
work with). I am going to send a personal note to Zach to say "thanks" again.
From: Gineane Stalfort Gineane Stalfort Hank, Thanks so much for yet another very successful event due to quality entertainment being the highlight of the evening. Every performer was very professional and added so much to the event. I can always count on you to make my job easier when booking entertainment. Best,
Wanted to drop a note to let you know that I found Samhill an excellent choice to help us locate a band for our wedding. We contacted you with fairly short notice and you provided an excellent band for the event. Several options were provided, we were looking for a group to transition from a slow pace to a full blown party band, and you did that for us. Everything went smoothly and it was comforting to know that finding a quality band was not a concern. Thank you for all the help you provided, I know we will use Samhill again for both personal and business needs when it comes to booking music. Rob and Suzanne Brooks |

Hank- Right Foot Red was absolutely fantastic and made our wedding the party we had hoped it would be. It was so nice that they were willing to learn the songs for our first dance and for the mother/son dance. They checked in with me prior to the wedding and followed the schedule that we had. All of that makes it easy not to worry about things going smoothly, but more importantly they ROCKED! The guys were so much fun and really got in to performing. They sound amazing, they play fantastic songs (we just love 70's and 80's music), they look great, and they work well with the crowd. I had so many guests come up to me during the wedding to ask where I had found this band. They couldn't believe I had convinced such a talented band to play a wedding. I have been to weddings were the music doesn't excite the crowd or get people dancing. We definitely had the opposite situation; the dance floor was always crowded and people were having a great time. Thank you so much for making my wedding so special. I can't wait to plan another event so I can use Right Foot Red. I look forward to recommending Sam Hill Bands to all of my friends (I know lots of brides to be!). Sincerely, |

Wonderful! On another note…you and Katie have been excellent to work with. I used to be an entertainment agent in Florida, so I know what you go through on a daily basis with pesky clients like me. You have been extremely thorough and responsive to my requests. We will definitely be using Sam Hill Agency in the future. Kind Regards, Heidi Speece |

Andy, Your website is hands down the best entertainment website I have seen. It is a pleasure to refer clients to your website because of all the helpful information you have, the way you list your bands, the fact that they can listen to a few of their songs. Baby Huey and the Babysitters sounds like a great band, thank you for telling me about them! I will continue to send referrals your way. Thanks, Megan |
