Biography: The Venture Rays

The Venture Rays were formed in 2006 as a vehicle for four friends to play their favorite songs. Now a five piece, they've realized that hundreds of happy couples, corporations, and college clients share their love for these songs: a diverse play list of classic rock, contemporary hits, and everything in-between. A typical night with the Venture Rays covers a lot of musical territory: Paul Simon, Johnny Cash, and the Band segue effortlessly into Wilco, Ryan Adams, and Gnarls Barkley, giving everyone at your event a reason to hit the dance floor and sing along.
They've got the chops to pull off the entire repertoire. Four Venture Rays handle vocal duties alongside the two guitars, keys, bass, and drums on stage. Frontman Dave Sullivan honed his skills as the singer for Southeastern party mainstays Groove Spot, drummer Scott Milstead has handled percussion duties for Carbon Leaf, and guitarist Nate Griffith, bassist Scott Harris, and keyboardist Nathan Brown are all in-demand players in the Richmond area.
