Biography: The Atlas Band

Atlas is a hot nine piece group from New York performing classic Motown, Soul, R&B, Disco hits from the 70s, 80’s & 90’s. Formed in 1981 out of Syracuse University as the “Atlas Linen Company,” the band quickly graduated from frat houses and beer blasts to be one of the most sought after acts in the Northeast and the #1 Party Band in New York State. Atlas has always been known for their tight and powerful horn section (the Atlas Horns), high energy choreography, the “funkiest” Rhythm Section in town, and amazing vocal harmonies.
Atlas has performed for such corporate giants as Anheuser Bush, AT&T, Burger King, Chase, Chrysler, Citigroup, Coca Cola, Ford, GE, GM, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Kodak , US Air, The PGA, Merrill Lynch, Miller Brewing, Mobil, Nationwide, Price Waterhouse Coopers, The NFL, NASCAR, Saturn, Time Warner, Xerox, and dozens more.
Atlas has shared the stage with the following artists: Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael McDonald, Chaka Khan, En Vogue, Bare Naked Ladies, Kool & The Gang, Patti LaBelle, Average White Band, Alicia Keys, Tower of Power, Chicago, Dazz Band, The Brothers Johnson, Monica, James Cotton, Spyro Gyra, Spin Doctors, Expose, Herbie Mann, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, John Denver, and Don Mclean to name a few.
