They far exceeded our expectations and almost every guest I spoke to said they’re the best band they’ve ever seen at a wedding. They also coordinated all the music prior to coming on and listened to all of my requests from pre ceremony, ceremony, post ceremony, cocktail hour, intro of couple, father/daughter, mother/son, our fist dance. From a musical standpoint, we had very high hopes for the Adrian Duke Project and they over delivered! Multiple people asked us where/how we found them and told us what a great job they did. They were absolutely the highlight of the reception.

We cannot possibly say enough good things about the Adrian Duke Project! We had such an amazing time at our wedding and they were a huge part of why. We had a relatively small wedding (53 people) and we were worried we wouldn't get much action on the dance floor, but they got everyone from my 25 year old friends to my 85 year old grandpa dancing all night! They played everything we asked, and performed songs that were special to us in their own amazing style. We've had nothing but great feedback and pretty much all of it includes the band!
Working with them ahead of time was easy as can be. The online event profile made planning out the details smooth and clear. Adrian was able to talk with our planner ahead of time and was very flexible with our tight timeline.
We're already marking our calendars for the band's performances around Virginia later this spring.

I think I can speak for both my mom and I when I say that the band was truly great. So many people loved them, and I really appreciated how communicative they were beforehand. They also did everything I asked and more: I knew I couldn't pick the sets song for song, so I gave them a list of songs for illustrative purposes. Even though I didn't expect them to play all of those songs, I don't recall them ever playing a song that I hadn't picked. They didn't have to do that, and I really appreciated it.
I definitely give Sam Hill & the band a 10/10!

The Adrian Duke Project band was amazing!  The music and vocals were fabulous!  We received so many compliments from our guests on the music and truly appreciate that the band was not only willing to learn the song for the first dance, but also provided the bride and groom with an opportunity to practice.  AND, they performed the first dances for the mother and groom and father and bride live as well, which felt special and above and beyond their original plan. 
They/Sam Hill were also flexible with us.  COVID caused us to have to reschedule this wedding twice beyond the original date, which meant we went from the full band, to a two piece ensemble and back to the full band without any problem.  That meant so much to us.  We were ultimately able to host the wedding we planned, and music was a big part of our day. 
Thank you again for your role in making the day special. We will recommend Sam Hill and the Adrian Duke Project without reservation to anyone who is looking to book live entertainment for their special event.

Thanks for asking. The contract allowed for the band to learn 1 new song.  The bride and groom had requested one but I also wanted one for the FatherDaughter dance.  They said gladly and they did this without an additional charge! The band was supposed to play during dinner.  I was VERY worried that the band would be way too loud for the area but they truly kept it as background music which was very appreciated to allow us to talk with our guests. Then when the band was supposed to play, they played.  I think that they were supposed to get several breaks but I only remember 2 and Adrian played the keyboard during 1 of the breaks.  The next morning I had several compliments on the band.  The best complement was that they “read the room”.   After 10 PM or so, you could tell that more people wanted to dance “loud and proud” so the band played much more upbeat music.  Our guests had a wonderful time. Working with the band was very easy.  At the last moment, we realized that we did not have any sound for the wedding ceremony.  Adrian agreed to supply the speakers and a couple of mics.  This was a life saver. And as you may know, we were originally booked for June 2020.  When we selected the new date, Adrian moved the date with no problem, did not lose a deposit, etc...  I would absolutely hire them again for the wedding.  Your company was very easy to work with as well. I also liked the fact that I could avoid the 3% credit card fee with an electronic check. I was absolutely pleased in all aspects of this – both the business and the entertainment and would hire you both again if we ever throw another big party.

Dave and I returned home a few days ago still on an emotional high from the wedding weekend.
Everything was just perfect and the band certainly did not disappoint.  I know they were tired from an event the night before but you would not have noticed.  They had the guests up and dancing and we loved the way they interacted with them.  Such a talented group of musicians and one that I would love to just sit and watch perform in concert.   We loved the variety of music they played and appreciated them learning a new song that was special to the bride and groom.
Thank you too for making the whole process of booking a band go so smoothly.  Not an easy thing to do in the midst of a pandemic but you did make it fun and easy.

Adrian and the band were flat awesome. The only regret I had was that I forgot to even try to say hello to him. I will blame that on coronadistancing. Our planner, Alexis Milby from LK Events, coordinated everything. She was thrilled when I told her who would be playing. She has worked with Adrian a bunch and said he is a dream to work with.
Because of the weather (too wet in the garden for the ceremony), we moved the ceremony inside. My organist from our church reached out to Adrian to see if he could borrow his keyboard instead of lugging a second one from the church. Adrian was so kind and generously allowed Charles to use his keyboard. We were so grateful. This actually simplified things for our videographer, too.
I stand by an earlier email to you regarding your attention to detail and your responsiveness. As a former corporate leader, I appreciated that more than you know. I have nothing but kudos for Adrian and for Sam Hill. I will happily write a review for the Knot.

The band was great. Very talented.  Their set list was terrific. Our crowd was almost all over 30 and we had heard all the songs.  Overall they were quite accommodating and professional.

The Adrian Duke Project was awesome! The music was fantastic. We knew they were good after hearing their promos, but they were unbelievable in person. We got so many compliments from our guests, and everyone was blown away. They have such a huge variety of styles and songs. They indulged us with softer jazzier music while everyone ate, and then ramped it up afterwards for the big party. We all had the best time, and I would highly recommend them to absolutely anyone. They were also really easy to work with. We waited until the last minute to find them, and then even longer to discuss music selection, and it really came down to the wire with a few last minute requests, and THEN we made some changes on the fly at the wedding. I'm sure we weren't the most organized or easiest to work with, but they were so accommodating in every respect. They made everything happen smoothly, and we really appreciated their ability to roll with the changes. 10/10 would book again.
As for Sam Hill, you guys were great as well. Probably the most easily navigated wedding band websites we looked at. We loved how many options you had and how they were laid out by cost. We also really appreciated all the music and videos from the bands online to review.
And then talking through different options directly with you could not have been easier.

We were so happy with Adrian Duke and his band we received numerous compliments about the music and how great they were! He played the requested jazz/swing style songs for the cocktail hour and it was not too loud, so guests could mingle and visit easily. The song to which Kate and Efren danced Pure Imagination was just perfect he worked with them to make sure it was the version that was performed by Harry Connick, Jr. and everyone loved it!

Adrian Duke was a tremendous hit at our wedding on Sunday. Easy to work with, and the music, as one guest commented, was more concert quality than wedding band, and every tune was danceable. Pat and I were so happy with the Adrian Duke Project! They were so easy to work with the month before and even answered questions up until the day before the wedding. They did a wonderful job on our first dance song and parent songs even though the songs are not on their typical song list. They played a great mix of music during the night and avoided a lot of the typical wedding songs which was exactly what we wanted.
We had guests coming up to us that night saying that was the fastest they had ever seen a dance floor fill up at a wedding and that was definitely a result of the band. Pat and I kept saying we wanted to spend the majority of our reception out on the dance floor with our friends and family and the band made it all that we could have hoped for.
I'd be more than happy to be a reference if anyone is looking to book the band in the future.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Adrian Duke Project! Everyone is still raving about how great they were the dance floor was always full and I'm pretty sure everybody cut a rug at some point through the night. One of the band members even spent time showing his guitar to my nephew (who is 6 and obsessed with guitars). I hope they had as great of a time as we did!

My husband and I decided that it was very important to book a live band for our reception. We are both from musical backgrounds, and so having a talented and musically welltrained band was very important to us. We fell in love with the sound of the Adrian Duke Project after hearing them on the Sam Hill Entertainment website, and decided to book them. They were wonderful to work with, and one of my favorite parts of the night was when my husband looked at me smiling and excited because they had learned a new song that we requested just for our wedding! They had fantastic energy during the night, and they were professional performers who provided excellent entertainment and music without being cheesy or kitschy. They sounded even better in person than on their demo. All of our family members and friends (many of whom are professional musicians or music professors) were impressed with the band’s style, sound, and range of music. They played the perfect music and we danced all night long! We would book them again in a heartbeat, and would definitely recommend them to our friends.

The Adrian Duke Project was awesome!! Our guest are still talking about how awesome they were and we kept hearing “best wedding band ever” throughout the night! Adrian was awesome to work with and I cannot say enough great things about him and his band. The female lead singer has an amazing voice, I could listen to her sing for hours. I can't say enough good things about Adrian Duke's band! They were extremely professional and low maintenance. The music was great last years dance chair proclaimed best band ever! She also said she's never seen any of our members still dancing at midnight and all credit goes to the band!
I really appreciate their flexibility. We were late getting to dinner, and the band was getting ready to start Adrian and I decided that it would be better for him to play the piano during dinner and he and the sax player did an incredible set at a moments notice.

We thoroughly enjoyed Adrian and the band! We felt that our wedding
reception was an absolute blast, and we have heard the same from countless
friends and family. We have received numerous compliments on the music, and

The Adrian Duke Project was INCREDIBLE. We had SO MUCH FUN. Loved, loved, loved the music. They stuck to our requests perfectly. I don't know if you got to see the form I filled out for them, but I made some ridiculously specific preferences, including play and do not play requests, our preferred ratio of music genres, and even asked that they put together a medley (with recommended tempo ranges) for the fatherdaughter dance. Not only did they make it all work in the best way possible, but they were gracious and completely professional about how specific we were (when I'm sure it's easier for them to have more creative license). Everyone was dancing the whole time. The number one compliment we received from guests was about how great the band/music was they're still talking about it. I almost want to get married again just so I can book them for my wedding a second time. Maybe when my future kids get hitched. Thanks for all your help making it happen!

Prior to the wedding I was in touch with Adrian for some specific requests. He was so helpful and easy to work with.
We had an outdoor cocktail hour and a trio play...wonderful!
The reception was amazing. We had a formal sit down dinner in a bit of a high end place. I was actually concerned the meal might drag out and get in the way of the party. That did not happen thanks to the great music. When the band started playing everyone got up up to dance and it just kept on going. I actually think some guests skipped some of the food to enjoy the band. Theresa is the best! She recognized and remembered us from our other daughter's wedding, where they played 2 years ago. She is such a nice person and what a voice. At the end of the reception they played for almost an hour and a half without a break. They literally brought the house down.
That was our last daughter to be married so no more weddings. We are going to come up with a reason for another good party so we can have them come and play again. They are really so special.

Thanks for followingup! We wanted to thank you so much for recommending The Adrian Duke Project! They were fantastic! They kept up the energy throughout the night and did great renditions of the songs we requested, especially our first dance and then a truly epic Hora and Hava Nagila (guests said they had never seen anything quite that incredible before). They played a great mix of slow and fast, older and even threw in some newer.

The female vocalist (who's name escapes me at the moment) finished the night off with a very memorable At Last, capping off a great night of music. Thanks for checking in with us. Adrian and his band were amazing. A few key things we were particularly impressed by:
Communication/responsiveness: We emailed Adrian detailed information and had two relatively long calls with him over weekends leading up to the event (2030 mins). He responded quickly and it was clear he diligently read all of our stuff and did a lot of work to accommodate our preferences.
Strong performance of customized song list: The band played the songs from the list we had requested, and even played a lot of songs that we requested that were not on their official list but that Adrian thought the band members knew. This made for a great night as we played a lot of hits with the UVA crowd. The band really made an impact on the evening as their performance was stellar. The female lead was especially good as she was able to sing more softly/mellow when necessary (which was key for us as we did not want her to dominate) but she really turned it on for a few solos which people loved.
Adrian was completely on point for everything and made the wedding especially memorable!

Adrian's preceremony music and the pieces we selected for the ceremony were beautiful. Many guests did not realize it was the same keyboardist who played at the reception and commented on how much they enjoyed the music played at the ceremony.
The energy of the band during the reception matched our guests excitement...and on a hot summer night too! Camm and I truly could not have been happier with our choice and their performance. It was such a complement to the whole evening to have such a lively and wildly talented group of musicians play for us. We've also heard
nothing but great feedback from our guests. The only complaint was that it had to come to an end!
I thank you so much for your help throughout the process. It was such a pleasure having the Adrian Duke Project and their wonderful sound at our weddingsomething we won't soon forget. I am sorry it's taken me so long to write you back. Adrian Duke and his band were absolutely incredible. We had high hopes, and he surpassed them all. I am quite the perfectionist, and far and away the most onpoint, professional, and talented person we had involved in our wedding was Adrian and his band. For every other vendor I could give you a list of things that weren't what we discussed, either due to laziness or oversight, but not Adrian, I have nothing but glowing and grateful comments for him and his bandmates. They did everything we asked them do (played all our requested songs, and even let our guests and my husband and I on stage to sing along for some songs), did everything we asked them not to do (refrained from all the please do not play songs). All of the musicians were so so talented, and the lead female vocalist and Adrian: WOW! The music they played during dinner, and then later during dancing were perfectly suited for each phase of the reception. Our dance floor was absolutely packed for the entire dancing time. I attached a couple pictures, but I have a lot more if you'd like to see them. These are just from friends, I'll also forward our photographer's shots once we get them back. I truly cannot thank them enough, they made our reception so memorable and special and perfect. It was a great treat to have them play. We've been very excited to share there name with all our guests who asked about them, and there were many!! Please pass our our sincere thanks to them.

The band was absolutely wonderful; everyone praised them. Thanks to them and to you and your associates for making it all happen. Below are some comments my wife wrote up for a blog post about our wedding vendors:
Adrian Duke is a wonderful singer and piano player and his band was fantastic. Adrian played piano while our guests were eating lunch, and then the band got everyone dancing during the long, hot Sunday afternoon (not an easy thing to do, as you will know all too well if you’ve ever been to an afternoon wedding!) The band played a wonderful variety of 70s and soul music that was popular with guests of all ages. They played all our special request songs and they sounded GREAT. Adrian sings, but he also brought a female singer with him for those songs that only women can sing… she was great too. The band was punctual, professional, friendly and easygoing. They said they’d had a late night gig in Virginia the night before, but you’d never have known by watching them. I can’t tell you what a difference it makes to have REAL LIVE musicians playing at your wedding. They can respond to the crowd’s energy and create a mood in a way that a DJ just can’t do. There’s nothing better than dancing to live music at your wedding…unless it’s watching your 11 year old brother figure out that HE likes to dance, or your 6 year old brother perform his new moves for all your family and friends. Or hearing your various aunts tell you that they finally managed to get your reluctant uncles to dance with them! There is no way that this would have happened with canned music. My local family is already busy trying to think up excuses (anniversary parties? birthdays?) to hire this band again. We dealt with their agent and everything was streamlined and taken care of for us.
We'd be glad to be a reference for Adrian and for your services at any time.

We definitely had a gut feeling about the Adrian Duke Project, and we are so pleased to see that we were right! Adrian and the band were awesome! We couldn’t have asked for anything better. The compliments we have been receiving are the obligatory, “The bride was beautiful” followed closely by, “The band was amazing!” I think everybody from 25 to 95 had a great time.
I was especially happy with how accommodating they were with special requests. The songs requested for the first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, and even the cake cutting were not on the band’s posted songlist. I figured it was a long shot, but asked if they could play them, and they did – perfectly! Our first dance was to ‘Beloved One’ by Ben Harper, and I wish I had a recording of Adrian’s version. Who knew that someone who sounds like Ray Charles could make Ben Harper sound so good. There were a minor mishap about when to play songs for the special dances, but Adrian was easy to talk to between sets and everything worked out perfectly. My only regret is that I didn’t have more time to pay attention to the music.

Sorry it has taken a while to get in touch with you. We recently moved to Lexington, VA and got back from our honeymoon, so things have been pretty hectic.
The band was great. Really there are no words that can truly describe how much fun and how good they were. Throughout the night everyone was asking about ADP. Even now, three weeks past our wedding date, our friends and family are still asking us where we found them. My parents were a little unsure about spending the money for a band, but told me a few nights ago that we really got a steal from you all. From the moment they arrived they were extremely professional and even more talented. I hope that they had as much fun as we did. My only regret is that we did not audio record the evening so that we could enjoy that night for years to come. We had an absolutely fabulous wedding, and Adrian and his band was spectacular. They kept the crowd going all night and knew just when to slow it down or speed it up. Let me start off with thanking you for all your help in booking Adrian for our reception! Everything went so smoothly, he was there on time, and was the consummate professional. All night at the reception, all we heard was how great the band was!
Our photographer's husband is actually in his fan club, so before the reception while taking pictures, she just raved about him. He didn't disappoint. We have only been back two days and everyone Emily and I have talked to have commented on the band!

Thank you for the follow up and for the congratulations. The wedding went off without a hitch. Now it's back to normal life...
I have been meaning to email Adrian, which I still intend to do. We really couldn't have been happier with the music and with Adrian and his crew. The level of musicianship was so much better than anything else we considered, and the music they played was perfect. I think we were probably on the more difficult end of the high maintenance spectrum in terms of what we were looking for in our reception music. We requested slower jazzier music for the first set or two, and progressively faster music as the night went on.
The band nailed it. Several of the older folks (including my wife's grandfather) loved the jazzier stuff played during dinner, and everyone loved dancing to the faster later that evening. Also, the brass section was awesome, and we were thrilled we got them (I couldn't believe it when Adrian said that most people don't splurge for the brass section). Probably my only concern is that the band was a bit too loud for the space, at least initially, but that was purely a function of the size of the room and the number of musicians, not something that Adrian was doing wrong. I should also mention that they band members did dress very well our wedding was black tie and you did warn me that they don't do black tie. But they all looked great and were very professional, as you promised.
Thank you for your help in getting Adrian Duke to Nashville. I can't recommend him highly enough. If I can ever serve as a reference for him or Sam Hill, I'd be thrilled to do it. And Lauren and I already trying to come up with another reason for a party so we can invite Adrian again.

Thanks Justin. The whole weekend was an absolute blast. Highlands was the perfect setting (75 & sunny all 3 days) and The Farm at Old Edwards Inn was amazing to say the very least. The biggest shock of the night was Adrian Duke's voice. He was incredible. I think a couple folks thought his music was recorded at first b/c he sounded so much like Ray Charles...but they caught on pretty fast. You were SO RIGHT about his versatility. He somehow managed to please the 20something crowd as well as my grandparents...and they are 90. Grant and I were so amazed by his range of sound and couldn't get over how he nailed Back of Your Hand by Dwight Yoakam. That was NOT a blues/jazz/soul request so we were amazed that he hit it.

We thought the Adrian Duke Band was fantastic. The musical style was exactly what we were looking for very upbeat, authentic, and soulful.
