Biography: Terri Allard
TERRI ALLARD has taken her rootsy blend of folk, country, and acoustic pop to countless clubs and coffeehouses throughout the U.S. Terri was a finalist in the 1994 & 1997 Kerrville, Texas New Folk Festival, the 1997 Telluride Troubadour Festival in Colorado, the 1997 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Showcase, and a performer in the 1995 & 1998 Emerging Singer/Songwriter Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in New York. Terri performed at the 1996 Atlantic Olympic Village Coffeehouse, at Nashville's 1997 & 1998 Extravaganza and at the 1998 AM JAM Festival and Millennium Stage Series at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
TERRI ALLARD has received nominations for five WAMMIES (Washington Area Music Association Awards) including Best Female Country Vocalist in 1996, 1997 & 1998, Best Country Trio 1998 and Best Country Recording 1996 for her second release, Rough Lines. Recently TERRI ALLARD was selected as a main stage showcase artist for the 1999 North American Folk and Dance Alliance Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
On her newly released 3rd CD, Loose Change and Spare Parts, TERRI ALLARD shows off her strength as a vocalist and the variety in her songwriting. The album takes up where her previous album left off, featuring the same players but playing with a slightly more aggressive style. We like to call Loose Change and Spare Parts, "Rough Lines on steroids."
