Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band features guitarist Ed Barney, banjo player Darrell Sanders, bassist Libby Files, and mandolin player Brett Smeltzer.

Ed Barney has toured internationally as lead guitarist for Up with People, and spent many years playing with Patent Pending. Darrell Sanders began his professional career with the late Charlie Moore, and spent ten years touring internationally and recording with Bill Harrell and the Virginians. Stoney Creek was founded by bassist and vocalist Libby Files ("among the rising number of female vocalists who are making a huge impact on bluegrass music" - Berryville Bluegrass Series promoter Frank Jurney). Mandolin player and vocalist Brett Smeltzer is host of "Bluegrass Retrospect" on the Bluegrass Mix and endorses Davis Mandolins.

Stoney Creek was chosen as "Artist of the Week" by Bluegrass Music Profiles magazine in May 2010. Stoney Creek has appeared on WAMU's Bluegrass Country with the late Tom "Cat" Reeder, including an in-studio live session in August 2010 to premiere "Hot Off the Press", the premiere of the band's "Live In Concert" project in July 2011, and Reeder's final interview, an in-studio live set to premiere "Are You Ready?" in June 2012. In 2011, Stoney Creek was hailed as "mainstream bluegrass at its best" by Bluegrass Unlimited magazine.

In June 2012, Stoney Creek released "Are You Ready?", a bluegrass gospel project. The title track and lead single Are You Ready? was written by the late Dee Stottlemyer, sister of bassist and vocalist Libby Files. The music video for "Are You Ready?" is in national rotation on BlueHighways TV. "Are You Ready?" was named "best gospel CD of the year" in 2012 by KCBL Bluegrass Backroads.

The latest albums - "Are You Ready?", "Hot Off the Press" and "Live In Concert" - have been featured on bluegrass radio in over 200 markets across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Several singles from the band's last studio album, "Hot Off the Press", reached number one on AirPlay Direct's Bluegrass Singles chart and the album was a mainstay on the Roots Music Report Bluegrass charts for more than a year. This project and the band's increased visibility led to endorsement deals with Deering Banjos and Davis Mandolins.
