Biography: The Mixed Nuts
The Mixed Nuts, aka The Party Band From Tigerland, have been performing for the past ten years in the Gulf Coast area. The Nuts were formed in 1997 during the glory days of high school in New Orleans before attending Louisiana State University.
As fate would have it, working every weekend for the past ten years has brought The Mixed Nuts from obscurity to one of the premier and sought-after party bands in the South. The Mixed Nuts combine youthful energy, popular songs, and a seamless show to create a unique party experience like no other. From classic hits from the 60s all the way to today's top hits, The Mixed Nuts cover every decade of popular music.
The band can be found weekly performing in some of the greatest venues of the area: The House Of Blues (New Orleans), The Louisiana Superdome, The Municipal Auditorium, Mid-City Lanes Rock 'N' Bowl, Southport Hall, The Varsity, Sogo Live, and the The Mellow Mushroom, as well as festivals such as Back To The Beach, The Louisiana Shrimp Festival and L.S.U.'s Homecoming Concert Series. The Mixed Nuts are also famous for their private events - from corporate conventions for 10,000 people to wild fraternity parties at L.S.U., The Mixed Nuts gauge their performance to their audience, which is one aspect of their continued success.
The band's first album, the fan-favorite "Mixed Nuts, Yall", is a live recording of the band performing at the historic Mid-City Lanes Rock 'N' Bowl in New Orleans. The Nuts have recently gone back into the studio to start recording tracks for a new album, slated for release in summer 2006. The Mixed Nuts begin their second decade together winning over new audiences with performances at the House Of Blues, New Orleans in 2005 as well as sold-out shows all around the southern United States.
